Giving children a vibrant future

Kaifi Azmi Girls School And Inter-College

“If you educate a man you educate an individual, but if you educate a woman you educate a family” said Mahatma Gandhi.

When Kaifi Saheb returned to his village, he discovered that girls from Mijwan and surrounding villages had no access to education. In many pockets of rural India a girl of ten is already a surrogate mother to her younger siblings. Along with her mother she cooks and cleans and works in the fields. In a patriarchal society where a son is privileged over a daughter for sheer dint of being born male, the girl child is pigeonholed into looking after the home as the sole reason for her existence. This is no longer the case.

Gender Just, Quality Education has changed the way the Principal, staff and students perceive themselves. It was a proud moment for us when the Principal Sameena Azmi won the Woman of Substance Award at the Hindustan Times Lucknow for her innovative style of teaching

Today a girl in Mijwan aspires to be a pilot, a computer engineer, an entrepreneur, a super model.

Shweta Prajapati who is elated to have walked the ramp in Mumbai with Anushka Sharma and Shahrukh Khan at Mijwan Summer Couture 2017 by Manish Malhotra, says with confidence, “There is nothing I cannot achieve, all I need is opportunity. Thank you Mijwan Welfare Society for giving me the opportunity.”

The school emphasises overall personality development through extra-curricular activities like theatre, dance, art and craft, computer literacy and sports.
