SWACA - Social Action For Welfare And Cultural Advancement

MWS has strategically partnered with UP based Social Action for Welfare and Cultural Advancement (SWACA), an NGO spearheaded by the dynamic Gunjan Choudhary that is involved in skill development among rural youth. We have trained more than 400 girls under National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) in hand embroidery. Under the Ministry of Minority Affairs 200 boys and girls in Zardosi have been trained. Under UP Skill Development Mission(UPSDM) 60 students have been trained in WHAT. Many such skill based programmes are currently underway.

There has been renewed passion and commitment in the girls after having participated in the India Skill Development fair at Pragati Maidan New Delhi 2017. It was inaugurated by the President of India Shri Pranab Mukherjee.

Beautician training

In partnership with SWACA, high level training in Beautician Course and hair design is being given to the girls under the aegis of internationally celebrated VLCC. Founder Vandana Luthra has developed a special module for the girls of Mijwan. After completing a 6 month course they did a refresher in Lucknow under the able guidance of VLCC’s chief trainer Smriti Singh.

Bridal make up has caught up in a big way in Mijwan and surrounding villages. As a result of which little home parlours have sprung up in and around Mijwan and are inspiring other girls to launch similar own enterprises.

—Social Action For Welfare And Cultural Advancement (SWACA), a 15 year old registered society has been working in the field of skill development since 2008.

—In 2008 an idea was conceived by the Chairman SWACA and few retired veterans to train youth to take up jobs in the government security forces and private sector. Soon, under guidance of Colonel (Retd) Dr Sanjeev Sahai & Mr VK RAO ex CISF officer, the idea was converted into a reality and an academy was launched in village Kanduni, Tehsil Biswan in District Sitapur by the name of ARJUN SURAKSHA PRASHIKSHAN ASTHAN (ASPA). Mr Ajeet Singh Shekhawat, retired IG from the CISF is our Security Advisor. Spread over an area of 50 acres ASPA has all training related outdoor and indoor facilities like an obstacle course, shooting range, playfields, computer lab, library, dining mess, canteen etc. It can accommodate 300 students at any given time. All the instructors are from the armed forces or para-military forces. In the security section ASPA has sent 27 youngsters to the army/para military forces. Recruitment to the forces continues to be dominated by the touts and their LINKS but the ASPA has proved that if one has the basic skills and he or she is willing to work hard, success can be achieved through honest means. Similarly, 500 ASPA trained boys have joined the private security jobs. In 2012-13, ASPA has been tasked by the UP Tourism to train Security Guards and Food and Beverage for under 'Hunar Se Rozgar' scheme of Ministry of Tourism, Govt. of India, for the hospitality industry.
