A Meeting of Forces: Courage, Compassion, and Change
Mijwan Welfare Society recently had the honour of hosting 600 women constables from the Uttar Pradesh Police, who visited in four groups to experience the grassroots transformation unfolding in Mijwan, Azamgarh.
This was more than a visit—it was a powerful exchange between women who protect society and women who are actively reshaping it.
Witnessing Empowerment in Action
At the Kaifi Azmi Sports Academy, the visiting officers saw young rural girls training with discipline and determination—transforming potential into performance, and dreams into medals. The academy stands as a testament to how opportunity and guidance can unlock excellence.
At the Mijwan Embroidery Centre, the constables observed the intricate artistry of chikankari and zardozi. Beyond the craftsmanship, they witnessed a deeper narrative—of financial independence, dignity, and self-reliance for women from marginalized communities.
A Living Legacy
Across every centre, the visitors experienced the spirit of Mijwan—a place where action meets aspiration. The work continues to reflect the enduring vision of Kaifi Azmi and the dedicated leadership of Shabana Azmi, whose commitment to rural empowerment has shaped countless lives.
A Shared Mission: Women Empowering Women
This visit symbolized something deeper—the coming together of two powerful forces. On one side, women in uniform safeguarding justice; on the other, women building pathways of opportunity and change.
As beautifully expressed in the words of Kaifi Azmi:
“When all the lamps have gone dark, light at least one flame —
and those who have fallen, lift them up with your own hands.”
Towards a Stronger, Inclusive Future
The interaction left a lasting impact on both sides. For the visiting officers, it was a glimpse into grassroots transformation. For Mijwan, it was a moment of pride and solidarity.
Because when women stand together—whether in uniform or with skill in hand—they become an unstoppable force for progress.
? Mijwan Welfare Society extends heartfelt gratitude to the Uttar Pradesh Police for this meaningful visit.
